Mill Certificate Reader

Terms of service

Last updated 13 October 2026

1. What this service is

Mill Certificate Reader is a tool run by Vedacta. It reads mill test certificates (material test certificates, inspection certificates to EN 10204, mill test reports) that you upload, shows the values printed on them with the page and the printed text for each, compares them with limits that you type in, and keeps a register of heat numbers for an account.

2. What it does not do

These limits are part of the service, not gaps in it.

  • It does not certify, inspect, test or approve material, and it never states that material conforms to a standard, a specification or an order.
  • It does not check whether a certificate is authentic, complete or unaltered. It reads the document it is given.
  • It holds no table of any standard. A value is compared only with the limits you entered, in the unit you entered them, and you are responsible for those limits being the right ones.
  • It does not convert units, round, calculate or fill in missing values.
  • It is not a quality management system, an inspection body or a substitute for your own incoming inspection.

3. Reading is done by a machine

Certificates are read by an automated reading service operated by Anthropic on our behalf. A reading can be wrong or incomplete: a figure can be misread, a line can be missed, a scanned page can be read badly. For that reason every line is shown with its page and the text printed there, values that could not be read for certain are left empty with a note, and you must check every figure you rely on against the certificate itself before you use it. The words "inside", "outside" and "cannot tell" describe only the comparison of a value as read with a limit as you typed it.

4. Your account

You must give a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account. You must be authorised to upload the documents you upload.

5. Fair use

The free check reads up to 3 files a day per visitor, each up to 6 pages. An account has a monthly allowance of pages shown on its account page. We may limit or close access that is automated, that tries to get around these limits, or that uses the service for anything other than reading mill certificates.

You must not upload files meant to harm the service or to steer the reading, attempt to reach another account's data, or resell the service without our written agreement.

6. Your documents

Your documents stay yours. You allow us to store them and to send them to the reading service only in order to provide this service to you. The free check keeps neither the file nor its reading. You can delete a file, with its readings and its heats, from your account at any time. See the privacy policy.

7. No warranty

The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that a reading is correct or complete, that the service is free of interruption, or that it is fit for a particular purpose. Decisions to accept, reject, use or ship material are yours.

8. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, Vedacta is not liable for loss that results from relying on a reading, on a comparison or on the register, including the cost of rejected, reworked or recalled material, delay, lost profit and claims by third parties. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the event, or, for the free check, to nothing.

9. Changes and ending

We may change the service or these terms; the date above changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. You may stop using the service and delete your files at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms.

10. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions and complaints: Grievance Officer, Vedacta, support@vedacta.com.
